Topographic map

Topographic maps demonstrate the slopes and rises in terrain within a given area. This is accomplished through the use of contour lines. When a line is closer to another one, it means that there is a steeper slope—likewise the more further apart a line is from another, the smoother a rise is. This particular topographic map is used to show the relief features of Concord, Massachusetts. Using a map such as this one would be very useful for anything in Concord involving slopes including hiking, building, and studying erosion in the local environment.
